In 1860 over sixty thousand gallons (270,000 litres) of wine was produced in the Hunter Valley, Australia. That is the equivalent of thirty thousand cases! Today production is much higher and the history of the Australian Wine Trail is fascinating and much of it centers on a small town called Wollombi in the Lower Hunter Valley.
