Masked Lapwing (Vanellus miles)

A new set of stock photos have been published on the OzImages website by Chris Prior. A brief description follows:

Masked Lapwings (Vanellus miles) also referred to as Plovers are most easily identfiable by a perculiar yellow facial wattle or mask and are prolific in coastal regions of east, south and northern Australia, often setting up nests in inconvenient locations such as school yards, road median strips, sports fields; basically anywhere there is grass where they scratch out a divot and lay their eggs. While they are accustomed to humans they fiercely protect their nests and attack when under threat.
